• Annual totals for 2007 power plant items, including:
    • Totals for capacity, generation, capacity factor, fuel quality, fuel consumption and heat rate for over 2,300 plants based on the EIA-906 survey. Data is displayed in the Whole Plant perspective, and the Owned Plant perspective for plants that had a single owner throughout 2007.
    • Emission totals for nearly 1,000 plants based on Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) data from the EPA.
    • FERC Form 1 data for over 1,100 plants that had a single owner throughout 2007.
  • The following changes have been made for 2006 and 2007 power plant data:
    • For regulated plants that file both the EIA-906 survey and FERC Form 1, the Whole Plant Annual perspective now reflects generation, capacity factor, fuel quality, fuel consumption and heat rate derived from the EIA-906 survey, where available, instead of FERC Form 1. For these plants, the Plant Owner perspective reflects the values as reported on FERC Form 1. This change ensures consistency between the Monthly and Annual Whole Plant perspective, and across all plants at the Whole Plant Annual perspective, regardless of whether or not information was filed on FERC Form 1.
    • Plants with steam turbines that have individual units fired by coal and units fired by a different fuel (gas, oil, wood) have now been broken out into two separate plants. This allows for the total capacity, generation, and emissions to be more accurately captured when grouping or filtering by the Coal fuel type.
    • Pumped Hydro net generation, capacity factor and $/MWh production cost ratios now reflect generation BEFORE subtracting out pumping requirements.
    • Fuel consumption and heat rates for cogeneration plants now reflect total requirements for steam and electric use instead of just the use for electricity.
    • Petroleum Coke fuel consumption is now reported as Coal instead of Oil. Plants that burn Petroleum Coke as a primary fuel have also had their Fuel Type changed from Oil to Coal.
    • Other Fuel Burned (mmBtu) is now set at the monthly and annual level as the heat derived from fuels such as wood, landfill gas, municipal waste, other biomass, blast furnace gas, propane, tires and other fuels.
